HOLLYOAKS’ James Sutton has revealed the exact moment his marriage fell apart and admitted he was “using lots of drugs and drinking bottles of wine.”

The actor, 42, was left gutted when he after more than five years of marriage.

Best known for playing Hollyoaks’ John Paul McQueen and Ryan Lamb on , James explained that he remembered the moment vividly.

He explained: “I remember that time really vividly. I remember sitting in the corner of this room on my old sofa, feeling like the situation I was in was so heavy.

“My marriage was falling apart. I was using a lot of drugs. I was, you know, I was doing online gambling.

“I was eating poorly. I was drinking bottles of wine all the time. I was just a f***ing mess.” he told The Mirror.

James admitted he wasn’t present as a husband and he didn’t know how to find a way out of the situation.

However, his life and spends his time inspiring men to open up about their mental health.

He explained he used tiny promises on top of each other until he managed to make a transformation of his lifestyle.

Now, James practices breathwork, meditation, and journaling every day.

James and Rachel first met at Glastonbury and returned there in 2018 to tie the knot but sadly divorced five years later.

James first played John Paul McQueen in 2006 and he’s been involved in some of the most memorable storylines of the show’s history.

The star has launched his new as a self-improvement guru for men and plans to scale back his acting work to focus on his passion.
