Residents have said this would make them feel unsafe in their own homes.

Kate Hughes, 31, is a mother-of-one who spoke to the Daily Mail about her concern of these plans going ahead.

She said: “I’m not happy about it.

“Unfortunately we live directly opposite, we would be overlooking the facility.

“I wouldn’t feel safe in my own home.

“Our people are struggling, the NHS is in crisis and a facility like that would be amazing to have as a rehabilitation unit.

“I’m absolutely opposed.”
