Mbappe confirmed winner of European Golden Shoe ahead of Salah

Published on May 25, 2025 at 07:30 PM

Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe, has won this season’s European Golden Shoe.

He has won the prize ahead of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Sporting Lisbon striker, Viktor Gyokeres.

In his debut season in Spain, Mbappe finished with 31 goals, totalling 62 points.

Gyökeres netted 39 goals in the Portuguese topflight and totalled 58.5 points.

Salah came in third place, scoring 29 goals as the Reds lifted the Premier League. The Egyptian totalled 58 points.

Mbappe is the second French player in history to win the Golden Shoe after Thierry Henry.

Barcelona striker, Robert Lewandowski, has 25 goals to his name and will play against Athletic Bilbao in their last league fixture on Sunday.

However, it will be impossible for Lewandowski to surpass Mbappe.

The scoring system in the top five leagues awards two points for each goal.

Goals in lower-ranked leagues are counted as one and a half points.
