Man in his 40s dies after ‘car falls on him’ at scrapyard

A MAN has died following an incident at a scrapyard.

Several emergency vehicles attended the scene in the Broadheath area of Altrincham, Manchester, yesterday afternoon.

Police, paramedics and fire crews all responded to the local firm of J Davidson Scrap.

Craven Road was closed off.

It is understood a man suffered a heart attack after an object fell on him, which is thought to be a car.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said a man in his 40s died at the scene.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Emergency services were called to an incident at a business on Atlantic Street, Broadheath, at around 3.15pm yesterday.

“Sadly, a man in his 40s was pronounced dead.

Enquiries are currently ongoing.”

A spokesperson for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said: “We are aware and working with Greater Manchester Police.”
