LABOUR MPs will put their party out of power for good if they block the plan of Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to tackle the asylum racket.

And they must back Work and Pensions Secretary as he gets to grips with the ballooning welfare bill.

status will be cut back. Applicants will have to wait 20 years before settling permanently.

She’s cracking down on illegal working, and endless case delays and appeals.

The duty to house and fund asylum seekers will be scrapped.

Cars or cash will be seized to help pay for accommodation and support.

Removals will be speeded up and financial incentives to leave increased.

Disgusting smear

Countries that won’t take back face visa bans.

Most people will think that is all just common sense.

But self-indulgent lefties — predictably joined by hand-wringing and — have lined up to parade their virtue and condemn the plans out of hand.

Stourbridge MP Cat Eccles accused of trying to “appease the electorate”. Whatever next?

Nottingham’s Nadia Whittome said the plan “flies in the face of decency and compassion”.

Sheffield’s Olivia Blake moaned that it was “deeply offensive and feeds division”.

Whingeing Richard Burgon — the idiot previously known only for backing useless Labour Party leadership — said the plan “scrapes the bottom of the barrel”.

Corbyn’s other mate, , came across like that leftie student from The Young Ones when she claimed the plans were “straight out of the fascist playbook”.

Fingers crossed, the people of Coventry give her the boot at the .

And Tony Vaughan criticised the crackdown even though he represents a seat on the Kent coast — Folkestone and Hythe. Not for much longer if he carries on like that.

Furious Ms Mahmood, a daughter of , gave the Lib Dems short shrift when they accused her of “stoking division”.

Unlike them, she blasted, she is “regularly called a f***ing P and told to go back home”.

And this is the key point. More than 70 per cent of voters want immigration brought under control and it’s a disgusting smear to call them racists. It’s nothing to do with race.

As Ms Mahmood pointed out, the people she represents in overwhelmingly non-white inner-city Birmingham are as angry as anyone about uncontrolled immigration.

The Tories let 2.5million people come here in just a few years, even though public services are creaking and there’s not enough housing already. It’s one reason they got hammered at the last election.

The might only be a small proportion of the total numbers of migrants to the UK, but they are a huge symbol of official incompetence and unfairness.

In any case, how dare the sanctimonious whiners claim to be more compassionate than the rest of us, when ?

It’s about time someone told it like it is on — but the Government needs to deal with other aspects of immigration as well.

People who do come here must be required to uphold our values and believe in democracy, freedom, fairness and tolerance — and learn English.

Otherwise, you shouldn’t be allowed to come here at all.

We’ve got enough extremists and people spouting hatred, thanks very much.

Overall, numbers are finally falling, but not quickly enough — and it’s madness to bring people in when we’ve got millions on the dole and claiming benefits who could be working.

A million young people are out of work and not in education or training.

They’ll spend the rest of their lives out of work without some help.

But there haven’t been enough apprenticeships for decades — and the number halved after Covid.

At the same time, visa rules are relaxed to bring in roofers, brickies, carpenters and care workers — not to mention nurses and other NHS workers.

Listen to the public

Why aren’t we speeding up training for our own youngsters to do those jobs? MPs should be furious about that. They should be talking about it every day.

One person who does get it is Pat McFadden. His number one priority is to ensure young people get training and apprenticeships so they can spend their lives in work instead of on the dole.

He’s drawing up new plans to help the unemployed into work and he’ll cut their benefits if they refuse.

He represents a seat in the Black Country, just down the road from the Home Secretary’s patch in Brum.

They know what ordinary people think — that’s why they understand the fury at uncontrolled immigration and ballooning benefits.

Labour MPs need to listen to the public, too. If they prevent Ms Mahmood and Mr McFadden tackling immigration and welfare, they’ll be signing on as well.

And if Labour MPs don’t like these plans, just wait and see what Nigel Farage and Reform do.
