The leader of Kwankwasiyya and former presidential candidate, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has voiced his concerns regarding recent remarks made by US President Donald Trump about Nigeria.
President Trump referred to Nigeria as a "country of particular concern."

Kwankwaso took to his Facebook page on Sunday to express: “I have noted with increasing concern the heightened comments regarding Nigeria made by President Donald Trump. This follows his designation of Nigeria as a ‘country of particular concern.’”

He emphasized that Nigeria is a sovereign nation facing security challenges caused by outlaws, rather than by religion or ethnicity.

“The insecurity we encounter does not differentiate based on religious, ethnic, or political beliefs,” he stated.

Kwankwaso urged the United States to assist Nigeria with advanced technology to combat insecurity instead of issuing threats.

“The United States should help Nigerian authorities with superior technology to address these issues, rather than issuing threats that could further divide our nation,” he added.

He also called on the Nigerian government to pursue diplomatic engagement with the US.

“The Nigerian government should consider appointing special envoys from its esteemed diplomats to engage with the American government. Furthermore, it is essential to appoint permanent ambassadors to represent Nigeria’s interests on the global stage,” he remarked.

Senator Kwankwaso urged Nigerians to remain united, stating, “To my fellow countrymen, this is a crucial moment where we should prioritize unity over division. God bless Nigeria.”
