The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has reaffirmed its willingness to welcome Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into the party, in anticipation of his planned defection from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

The Kano State Chairman of the APC, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, made this statement while responding to recent political developments, emphasizing that the expected transition is motivated by unity, reconciliation, and the collective interest of Kano State.

Speaking on behalf of the party’s national leader, the former chairman and immediate-past Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Abbas highlighted that the invitation for Governor Yusuf to join the APC is not based on political rivalry, but rather on a genuine desire to foster a more united and prosperous Kano State.

“This is about unity, reconciliation, and advancing Kano State,” Abbas remarked. “The APC is prepared to welcome Governor Yusuf with open arms so that, together, we can pool our strengths for the advancement of the state.”

He elaborated that upon his official entry, Governor Yusuf, along with other prominent members of the NNPP, including but not limited to National Assembly members, State Assembly representatives, State Executive Council members, Local Government Chairmen, elected Councilors, political appointees, and party supporters, would be welcomed into the APC under Dr. Ganduje’s leadership, in an atmosphere of mutual respect and collective responsibility.
