On Saturday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed over 64,000 members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and other political parties in Jigawa State who joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The President, represented by Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni, promised the new members equal treatment and opportunities within the party.
This information was shared in a statement from Governor Buni’s Media Aide, Mamman Mohammed, which was made available to reporters.
Through Governor Buni, the President stated: “Starting today, you will be treated equally alongside existing members of the party. We commend your bravery and commitment to supporting the ruling party in its mission for national development.”
He reiterated his administration’s dedication to enhancing security throughout the country to protect the lives and property of Nigerians and to promote economic progress.
“Additionally, the government will ensure the completion of the Kano–Maiduguri federal highway to facilitate the transportation of goods and services and foster economic development,” the President assured.
Tinubu praised Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, for his developmental initiatives, highlighting their positive effects on the community.
The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who led members of the party’s National Working Committee, also commended Governor Namadi for his efforts in advancing the state.
He encouraged the new members to feel welcomed, stating, “This party is yours; you should feel at home and work for the APC.”
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Alh. Kabiru Ibrahim Masari, urged the people of Jigawa State to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s APC administration in its quest to advance Nigeria.
“You should back the party, and I assure you that Jigawa State will continue to benefit from the APC-led federal government. The APC administration will persist in enhancing the lives of the residents of Jigawa State and Nigeria,” Hon. Masari assured.
Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi Danmodi remarked that the support received from the federal government has significantly improved the lives of the citizens.
He guaranteed that Jigawa State would remain a stronghold for the APC.
“With these new members, the APC cannot be contested in Jigawa State,” the governor declared.
