The Egyptian Cabinet Presidency has announced that there will be seven weekly flights to both cities starting from 2027.
It was also noted that British travelers can access the two cities from various UK airports, each offering two flights per week.
Additionally, there will be a weekly flight to Sharm El Sheikh from a selected airport and a weekly flight to Hurghada from another.
Reports indicate that CEO Steve Heapy and Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy met at the World Travel Market London earlier this month to discuss the flight plans.
The Minister described the new flights as a significant move to enhance British tourism to Egypt.
Further details have been published on Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities webpage.
A spokesperson for Jet2 told Sun Travel: “As the UK’s favorite airline and tour operator, we consistently review our flight and holiday offerings to ensure they align with our customers' needs.
“We are finalizing an exciting program for Egypt and will share the details, including a fantastic launch offer, with our customers next week.
“With guaranteed sunshine and a great launch offer on the horizon, our advice is to stay tuned!”
While this isn't the first occasion Jet2 has operated flights to Egypt, it has been 14 years since the last flights departed.

Jet2 previously provided flights to both Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, but these routes were discontinued in 2011.
Egypt continues to be a highly sought-after tourist destination for Brits, particularly the Red Sea resort towns, known for their vast sandy beaches and luxurious holiday resorts.
In just five hours, British travelers can enjoy sun, sea, and sand, along with affordable food and drink.
These resort cities are ideal for winter sun vacations, as average temperatures reach 22°C during the colder months, even in December and January.
In contrast, summer temperatures can soar up to 38°C.
In recent years, tourism to Egypt has seen fluctuations, according to Travel Money reports.
British visitors reduced their travel to Egypt, leading to the flight cancellations in 2011, amidst regional conflicts.
This was the year the Egyptian Revolution began, marked by widespread demonstrations across the country.
Some resorts continued to receive visitors; however, a terror attack on a Russian passenger plane in 2015, which resulted in the deaths of all 224 people on board, further impacted travel.
Consequently, flights from the UK were halted for at least four years, resuming in 2019.
This followed new guidance from the UK Foreign Office, which indicated that certain destinations were deemed safer, with improvements in airport security.
Currently, many airlines, including EgyptAir, Wizz Air, and Turkish Airlines, operate flights to Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada.
