The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) conducted a promotion examination for junior staff under the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation on Friday.

The Director overseeing the Abuja zone for JAMB, Hajia Zainab Hamzat, shared this information with journalists, emphasizing that the event proceeded without any issues.

Hamzat noted that approximately 450 junior staff members participated in the computer-based test held at Ade-Ola International School in Kubwa, a suburb of the nation’s capital.

She mentioned that a total of 476 staff members under the Head of Service were anticipated to participate in the promotion exercise, but only 450 attended the exam.

“Everything went smoothly as usual. We refer to this as a third-party exam. It is a promotion exam for the Head of Service. All their officers took the exam for promotion purposes,” she explained.

“We conducted two sessions – one in the morning and another in the afternoon. In the morning, we expected 250 candidates, but 232 were present. In the afternoon, we anticipated 226 candidates, with eight absent,” she added.

“The exam process was seamless. Everything went well,” she concluded.

The Director further clarified that the examination was intended for all junior staff under the Head of Service, including immigration officers, firefighters, civil defense personnel, and other paramilitary organizations associated with the Head of Service.

In response, the Director of Ade-Ola International School, Kubwa, Mercy Olaosegbe, praised JAMB for maintaining high standards in professional examinations.

She remarked, “The examination was successful. We have all the necessary facilities to conduct this examination. JAMB ensures that centers are up to standard before allowing participation in these exams. Because our center meets these standards, we have been able to participate in third-party examinations organized by JAMB.”
