A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Odih Rowland, has apologised for defecting to the opposition coalition from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
He tendered the apology in a letter dated Thursday and addressed to the National Chairman of PDP.
According to the now-viral letter, Rowland regretted his mistake of decamping to ADC.
“I am writing to express my sincere apologies for my recent decision to decamp from PDP to ADC on August 1, 2025. I realise now that I made a grave mistake by leaving the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
“Following the urging of my ward, local government, state, and national leaders, I have decided to return to PDP with my supporters. I pledge to work tirelessly for the party’s victory in 2027,” he said in the letter.
Rowland had defected to ADC in August at the height of the leadership crisis within PDP.
However, the PDP’s 102nd National Executive Council recently approved the appointment of Iliya Damagum as the substantive National Chairman of the party, while also zoning the 2027 presidency to the South.
