President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration's dedication to the well-being of the Nigerian Army, emphasizing its professionalism and operational effectiveness.
Speaking through Vice President Kashim Shettima at the opening of the Chief of Army Annual Conference 2025 in Lagos on Monday, Tinubu promised ongoing support for the Armed Forces to enable them to carry out their constitutional duties.

The President underscored the importance of the conference for strategic reflection in the face of evolving threats, highlighting the attendance of former Service Chiefs and elder statesmen as a testament to the Forces' legacy.
Defence Minister, retired Gen. Christopher Musa, remarked that the event was crucial for assessing operations, as well as the Nigerian Army's readiness and alignment with national priorities.
He advocated for joint operations, inter-agency collaboration, and a comprehensive societal approach, stressing that these efforts should yield effective battlefield results.
Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, expressed gratitude to Tinubu for his commitment to welfare, equipment, training, and reforms. He also acknowledged the National Assembly for its support.
Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu emphasized that security is the cornerstone of any development, praising the Army's contributions and pledging state support.
