A BBC Ghosts star has hinted at a show comeback in a cryptic post and fans are “screaming.”
Matthew Baynton, who played Thomas Thorne, has sent fans into a frenzy as he took to his social media to tease the show return.

was a hit British sitcom following a group of ghosts from different historical periods haunting a country house, while sharing it with it’s new living occupants – a married couple.
The One show only ran from 2019 to 2024 but now Matthew has dropped a very telling hint that something could be in the works.
Matthew posted a short clip of the famous wooden front door opening all by itself.
The star didn’t caption the cryptic post, leaving fans hopeful but equally confused.
One fan wrote: “We should be so lucky. Lucky, lucky, lucky.”
Another viewer said: “I’m not screaming in my house with excitement you are!… Okay, it’ me! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH.”
A third fan added: “OH MY GOD SOMETHING IS HAPPENING.”
Meanwhile, an eagle-eyed fourth fan wrote: ” They all posted this, what does it mean???”
Jim Howick – who played Pat Butcher – and Martha Howe-Douglas (Lady Stephanie ‘Fanny’ Button) also posted the same video of the door to their Instagram with no caption.
Ghosts was written and performed by the collective group Them There, who previously worked together on huge productions including Horrible Histories and Yonderland.

The comedy show has already made a comeback in Australia after it was revealed it had been given the go ahead last year.
It began airing in November and fans were utterly obsessed, though it’s not clear if it will be returning for a second season.

“Western Australia will provide the perfect backdrop for all their comedic antics and we’re grateful to Screenwest for their support.”
Whilst, Daniel Monaghan from Paramount Australia added: “We are thrilled to bring the hugely popular UK and US hit Ghosts to Australia!
“It’s an incredible opportunity to film this one-of-a-kind comedy series in Western Australia with the support of Screenwest, alongside an amazing cast and crew. We can’t wait for production to start.”
