A FAN-FAVOURITE MasterChef champion has revealed a “grim” health update following her treatment for cancer.

The BBC show star took to her page after her first round of chemotherapy – and admitted it was a rough ride.

, who after discovering two lumps in her chest, uploaded a picture of a huge tent against the backdrop of a perfect pink sunset.

The 50-year-old, who won the cooking show in 2005, gave an update in her caption as she wrote: “When you’ve done your first chemo and despite it being more grim than most other things thus far, you still get through it.

“Not only do you still get through it but you do this funny thing called a Fast Mimicking Diet through it which seems a radical way of improving the side effects and a week later you manage to dance until 1AM at your uni flatmate’s 50th birthday party and it feels BLOODY BRILLIANT…!!!!

“No-one is taking the dancing out of this stubborn, mad-capped, people-loving, life-loving, thrill-seeking cooker woman, no sireeeeeeee”.

Co-founder of restaurant chain Wahaca, Thomasina bravely broke her cancer news in July.

She wrote on Instagram: “So….I had a mastectomy last Friday.”

The website states: “A mastectomy is surgery to remove 1 of your breasts. A double mastectomy is where both breasts are removed.”

She continued: “Originally I’d had a cyst there but the 2nd (& 3rd) lump turned out not to be one at all.

“Quite the reverse. They were bad asses.

“Take out: Always check a lump EVEN if you think it’s a cyst and do it promptly!!!”

But went on to explain that her prognosis is “good”.

Thomasina revealed that she believes in the accident wisdom of Hippocrates and Ayurvedic , highlighting that “food is medicine” and “positive framing is everything”.

She also told her followers that “addressing and dealing” with emotions, as well as her age, has helped her.

Thomasina has huge a very successful career since appearing on Masterchef.

The star co-founded Wahaca in 2006 and it is still a popular restaurant to this day.

She’s appeared in cooking programmes Wild Gourmets and A Cook’s Tour of Spain, as well as Mexican Food Made Simple.

Thomasina has also released a number of books including Mexican Table, Meat-Free Mexican, Home Cook and Chilli Notes.
