Former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has retracted his intention to form an independent group called Hisbah Fisabilillahi in Kano State.

This decision was communicated in a statement endorsed by a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan Agundi.

As per the statement, Ganduje withdrew from the initiative following a stakeholders’ meeting that included representatives from all 44 local government areas of Kano State.

The statement indicated: “The meeting agreed to suspend the formation of the independent Hisbah Fisabilillahi to allow the Kano State Government to adequately assess the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of certain Hisbah personnel.”

It emphasized the intention to address the issue through dialogue, understanding, and peaceful engagement instead of confrontation.

The statement also highlighted the importance of respecting the legally recognized Hisbah Board that is already functioning in Kano State. Additionally, it reaffirmed a commitment to fully cooperate with security agencies to uphold law and order.
