A KILLER who opened fire on a female Amazon driver before dragging her body into a ditch and leaving her to die has been jailed.
Thomas Coy, 65, was sentenced to 40 years behind bars following the murder of Jasmine Taylor, 23, according to court documents.

He pleaded guilty to one count each of second-degree murder and armed criminal action in September.
The killing took place on February 5, 2025, on Lawrence County Road 2152, about 40 miles west of Springfield, .
Jasmine had been behind the wheel of an truck when Coy opened fire on her vehicle as it was approaching his driveway.
The car crashed into a fence at around 4pm, according to .
Footage provided by Amazon to police showed the woman slumped over the driver’s seat as the truck was arriving.
Local cops said Coy saw the driver coming down the road, went back in his home to get a weapon, came back out and waited for Jasmine to pass him before he shot at her.
After her vehicle crashed, Coy removed her from the vehicle, dragged her along the road and dumped her body in a ditch.
She was still alive and breathing at this point.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and took her to hospital.
Authorities said they did not realise she had been shot until doctors confirmed a gun wound in her head hours later.
She died on February 9, just four days after the attack.
Coy was arrested and charged the next day with assault.
The charge was later upgraded to first-degree murder.
The local sheriff said: “It’s just really sad because there is no sense to what occurred whatsoever.
“It’s very emotional because of the senselessness of what occurred.
“It just makes no sense why someone could be so angry to do something like this.”
Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the killing yet.
Neighbours told local outlet KZRG Coy had often complained about the speed of delivery vehicles on the county road.
