Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has said it is important for his team to continue their winning run.

The three-time African champions have won three and drawn one of their four matches under the Malian.

Chelle’s side are in buoyant mood following their successful campaign at the Unity Cup, where they defeated their eternal rivals, Ghana, and the Reggae Boys of Jamaica to win the trophy.

The Super Eagles will take on Russia in another friendly at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow, on Friday night.

The 47-year-old said it is important for his team to maintain the winning momentum.

“Tomorrow’s game is a friendly, but we have serious goals: firstly, we want to win, secondly, to prepare for the next tournaments and qualifying matches,”; Chelle said during a press conference in Moscow.

Nigeria will be without some of their top stars, including Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Wilfred Ndidi, for the game.

Chelle insisted that they can cope with their absence.

“We know that the Russian national team is a very strong team. It has many high-class players, they demonstrate an intense, aggressive and technically equipped game,”; he added.

“Now I am thinking about how to build a plan for the upcoming match.”;
