She listed the property in Kensington with high-end estate agents Knight Frank in February 2024 – but no buyers have been found yet.
Sources indicate that Freddie’s sister Kashmira Bulsara was displeased about the potential sale, and she has been involved in a dispute with Mary over the selling of his possessions, as we reported last year.
A source revealed: “Kashmira will be quietly pleased that Garden Lodge still hasn’t sold.
“She was distressed at the idea of any of Freddie’s belongings being available for public sale, especially Garden Lodge.”
The property hosted legendary parties, including his famous Silly Hat Party for his 40th birthday in 1986.
Potential buyers must provide proof of funds before they are allowed to view the property.
Freddie was engaged to Mary until 1976, when he came out as gay to her – but they remained close friends until his death, with Mary caring for him during his illness.
Freddie left half of his estate to Mary, 74, in his will, and she is still recognized as the registered owner of Garden Lodge on Land Registry documents.
In 2023, she sold 1,406 items he had left her for £40 million at auction.
Last year, The Sun reported that 74-year-old Kashmira secretly spent £3 million purchasing many of Freddie’s items from Mary anonymously.
She was reportedly heartbroken about Mary selling the items – which included a waistcoat featuring portraits, which Kashmira bought for £139,700.
She wanted to keep her identity as the buyer secret, so she purchased the items anonymously at auction.
Knight Frank declined to comment.
