The Omani man – who allegedly plotted a jihadist attack on an Israeli airport – had previously planned to become a professional pilot in the UK, according to The Telegraph .

In shocking new revelations, Hammami reportedly learned to fly with the L3 Airline Academy – which has several centres across England.

The company, now Acron Aviation Academy, has training bases in Southampton and Bournemouth as well as a simulator flight centre near Gatwick.

Israeli sources claim the Omani national “tried to get hired” at several airlines that flew to before landing a job for FlyDubai.

“The dream was to crash into Ben-Gurion Airport,” the source added in reports to The Jerusalem Post .

He allegedly confessed to plotting a terrifying 9/11-style attack before he was even hired as a pilot, Israeli sources claim.

On Wednesday September 30, a FlyDubai passenger jet plunged a terrifying 14,000ft in 29 seconds.

Inside the cockpit, Hammami had allegedly attacked captain Smit Machchhar in a suspected “jihadist” sabotage attempt.

Data journalist Thomas Godfrey added: “At that speed, this flight may have been just 35 seconds from slamming into the ground and killing everyone on board.”

The suspected hijacker had also travelled to New Zealand on a six-month student visa to train as a pilot.

said on Tuesday that Hammami undertook flight training between November 2018 and May 2019 “for a UK-based company no longer operating in New Zealand”.

UK flight school L3 Airline Academy was operating in New Zealand at the time.

During his time studying at British and Australian universities, the suspected attacker raged against women and advocated for violent punishments.

In a now-deleted account under the name @PilotHamam which used the name Hamam Al Hammami, the user .

In sick online rants, the Omani national appeared to praise a woman being given a “pre-emptive slap” while studying remotedly at Buckinghamshire New University.

In another post he replied to a woman: “I’d stomp on your head, wipe the floor with you, make you an example to others, and then you :).”

In another post he called a man a “coward and a scoundrel” for failing to violently assault his wife after catching her speaking to another man.

He said: “Anyone else would have stomped on her head and made her an example to others.”

In 2022, the user boasted about having “studied in Australia, Britain and New Zealand for five years”.

Hammami appeared to have lived in London for five months, according to posts on the old Twitter account, but it is unclear if he was completing flight training at the time.

He also studied engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology (RMIT), according to now-deleted posts seen by CNN.

Australian police previously confirmed that they had opened an into Hammami’s suspected terror links.

The AFP said: “The Victorian joint counter-terrorism team, comprising the AFP, Victoria Police and ASIO [Australian Security Intelligence Organisation], can confirm it is investigating the man’s links to Australia.”
