At around 7pm on Saturday, partygoers were enjoying Daer Nightclub when the canopy fell on top of the crowded pool below.

Video shared on social media by one bystander captured the moment crowds rushed over to help those who were hit or trapped by the frame.

Some looked visibly bloody and shaken, while others were being attended to on the poolside.

In the chaos, those not injured lifted the frame and put themselves between it and the victims who appeared to have been sunbathing next to the pool.

Evgenii Strizh who was at the poolside and captured the aftermath on his phone shared the clip to Facebook.

“30 seconds ago, I was standing right there. Then, for some reason, I walked away,” he wrote .

“Just moments later, a huge metal roof panel flew down from the second floor and crashed directly into the area where people were standing.

“I am still in shock. I keep thinking that I was supposed to be standing there, but for some reason I moved away at the last moment.

“Life can change in a second. Feeling grateful to be safe tonight.”

The Seminole Police Department confirmed that a total of five people were injured and taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Wind gusts were estimated to be between 35 and 50 miles per hour.
