The federal government has been urged to enhance the Technical Aid Corps, the NTAC agency under the Ministry of Federal Affairs, by increasing financial support to the agency in order to improve foreign policy and foster South-South cooperation.
Foreign affairs analyst and Executive Director of the New Era for Sustainable Leadership and Accountability Initiative (NESLAI), Edwin Olorunfemi, made this appeal in a statement to DAILY POST on Sunday.
This request comes as he commended NTAC for its significant contributions to Nigeria’s foreign policy goals and the advancement of South–South cooperation.
He noted that the Corps has consistently represented the country’s values, skills, and goodwill across Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific, with TAC’s programs focused on deploying skilled Nigerian professionals to enhance human capacity development.
“Through NTAC, Nigeria has not only shared its expertise but has also established lasting relationships based on solidarity, cooperation, and mutual development goals.”
“NTAC has demonstrated its worth through impact, service, and results. Supporting the Corps is ultimately about maintaining Nigeria’s voice, leadership, and positive influence in the global community,” he emphasized.
