Former Minister of Police Affairs and three time Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), governorship candidate, Adamu Maina Waziri, has defected to African Democratic Congress, (ADC), in Yobe state.

This followed his formal resignation from the PDP on Monday in Potiskum LGA of the State.

He tendered his resignation letter to the Ward Chairman at the Dogo-tebo ward in Potiskum.

Waziri, PDP Board of Trustees member, cited that the PDP’s “current leadership and direction as inconsistent with a major political party,”; adding that the party “has lost its moral standing as the primary opposition bastion.”;

He promised to mobilise his political associates to join ADC, calling on others to join in a movement to “restore democratic hope in the country.”;

Waziri’s defection coincided with an ADC zonal meeting in Potiskum town, with the party’s leaders using the occasion to urge youth, women, and the elderly to join the ADC to move the country forward.
