Manchester United's manager, Ruben Amorim, has acknowledged that his team will face challenges when Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo participate in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) later this season.
The AFCON is set to commence on December 21 and will conclude with the final on January 18, 2026.
Both Mbeumo and Diallo will represent their respective countries, Cameroon and Ivory Coast, during the tournament. Additionally, Man United defender Noussair Mazraoui is also expected to be unavailable as he is likely to represent Morocco.
In discussing how his team might manage in the absence of these key players during AFCON, Amorim stated at his pre-match press conference prior to Manchester United’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest: “We have time to cope with this situation.”
“We will face some difficulties, which we are already aware of. This will present an opportunity for others, as I see players in training who deserve to play.”
“However, let’s take advantage of Amad and Bryan in these matches and reevaluate in January.”
