Former Chelsea midfielder, Emmanuel Petit, has told the club they have not yet solved their problem with the signing of Liam Delap.
The former France international wants the Blues to buy wingers in the summer window to enable them to compete with the top clubs.
He is of the opinion that the signing of Liam Delap does not solve their main problem in the squad.
The Frenchman told talkSPORT that Chelsea do not have good wingers, insisting it should the main focus for them.
According to him, the pressure is always on Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson, since the wingers do not score or provide assists.
He said, “I don’t think Liam Delap will be the solution. If you look at the top teams, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and their wingers, those players make the difference all the time.
“Most people are focusing on the number nine at Chelsea but for me the biggest problem is the wingers.”;
He said that the players in the Blues squad do not have the capacity to face the big European teams in the UEFA Champions League.
Cole Palmer was Chelsea’s top scorer in the Premier League last season, scoring 15 goals and 8 assists.
The club’s top striker, Nicolas Jackson, was able to score just 10 goals and 5 assists.
