Emmerdale star unleashes sweary online rant at ‘backlash’ to joining rival soap Coronation Street

A TOP soap star has gone on a foul-mouthed rant following criticism that he had “jumped ship” to a rival show.

The potty-mouthed actor’s tirade comes shortly after The Sun revealed he was returning to the long-running series.

Steve Evets took to TikTok to launch his blistering tongue-in-cheek attack.

He vented: “I just want to make a bit of a statement here — so recently I’ve been on Corrie, and there have been a lot of comments and attention about it, and people are saying it’s changed me and it’s gone to my head?

“Well, it flaming well hasn’t changed me! I’m so flipping normal, me.”

In the background, he was heckled with: “You’re a ****!”

He carried on regardless, saying: “Flaming out of order, mate!”, before the heckler shouted: “You’re still a c***!”

Steve continued: “I’ll go to the foot of our stairs if someone comes out with allegations like this again.”

The 66 year old then joked: “Whoever made this is a right card, so stop it!”

He shared the video with the caption: “Contrary to popular belief, #Corrie has not changed me.”

Fans went wild for the star in the comments, with many saying the post had made their day.

“You definitely need a spin-off show or to be a talk show host,” one shared.

Another added: “It should, you’re brilliant and you’re a star and you’ve always been a star.”

A third commented: “Hahaaa, ooh love you, your humour creases me up.”

Steve previously appeared in as security guard Tom Shepherd between 1998 and 1999.

He made the jump to rival soap earlier this year, appearing as Doug Ramsey, the estranged father of and her troubled sister .

The Sun recently revealed that , with Doug set to return to and expose Jodie’s darkest secrets.

Steve is also known for playing Farmer Jim in and starring opposite Eric Cantona in the Ken Loach film Looking for Eric.
