TWO people have died and four others have been injured after after a car ploughed into a group of pedestrians before a multi-vehicle crash.

Emergency services were called to White Rose Way in Doncaster, following the horror collision on Sunday.

Cops said a black Mitsubishi L200 had been travelling along the carriageway before crashing into a group of four pedestrians.

The Mitsubishi was then involved in a crash with a black Audi and a silver BMW travelling on the opposite side of the carriageway, South Yorkshire Police said.

Police have now confirmed that two pedestrians were killed in the crash which saw the vehicle collide with two other cars.

Cops are currently working to identify and inform their next of kin.

The 30-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi was arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit.

He has since been bailed pending further enquiries, said the force.

South Yorkshire Police has launched an investigation and urged any witnesses to come forward.

A force spokesperson said: “We are appealing for any witnesses, and anyone who may have dashcam footage, following a fatal road traffic collision in Doncaster over the weekend.”
