The Nigerian Police Force has warned that it will prosecute anybody found causing public unrest during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

This was contained in a statement signed by ASP Ibrahim Sunusi Idris of the Jigawa State Police Command and issued to DAILY POST.

According to him, “the Command has activated a comprehensive, intelligence-led security architecture that spans all 27 Local Government Areas. This includes the strategic deployment of conventional and tactical teams to Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, motor parks, markets, highways, Durbar grounds, and other critical infrastructure.”;
He said the command is fully prepared to frustrate, apprehend, and prosecute anyone who attempts to disrupt the peace.

The command advised parents and guardians not to allow minors to operate vehicles. Children must be accompanied by responsible adults in all public areas.

“Horse riders also must restrict their activities to private compounds or officially approved equestrian zones. Unauthorised display will lead to arrest and legal action.”;

The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, A.T. Abdullahi, noted that the command remains resolute in its mandate to protect lives and property and will stop at nothing to ensure that all residents and visitors celebrate in an atmosphere of peace, safety, and dignity.
