EastEnders Takes Home Coveted RTS Award While ITV Soaps Emmerdale and Coronation Street Miss Out

EASTENDERS is riding high this morning after winning a prestigious gong after Emmerdale and Corrie were both SNUBBED.

This year’s Royal Television Society (RTS) Programme Awards took place at London’s posh Grosvenor House Hotel.

RTS judges described Adolescence’s young actor Owen as a “natural talent”, with “a performance of phenomenal skill in a demanding, uncompromising role”.

Out of all the broadcasters, it was the BBC who led the night, and bagged 16 wins.

This included victories for Celebrity Traitors in the entertainment and reality category, and Things You Should Have Done for scripted comedy.

The Beeb’s Blue Lights won for best drama, and their smash hit show Unforgivable won gongs for Bobby Schofield and .

Sir Michael Palin was given the Outstanding Achievement Award.

Meanwhile, the RTS Awards were this year hosted by comedian .
