TOWIE’S Yazmin Oukhellou has been slammed by followers after pretending to be pregnant in an advert for her new perfume.
Yazmin, 32, has since deleted the post and apologised on Instagram Stories.
She wrote: “I never imagined it would mislead anyone or make light of pregnancy, miscarriage or fertility struggles.”
Explaining the video was intended to symbolise creating something special, she added: “I’m truly sorry. The post has now been removed.”
“I completely understand why it may have caused upset, and I apologise to anyone who was hurt or offended.”
The reality star sparked a backlash with the promotional clip, which showed her sporting a baby bump before revealing her “new arrival” was a fragrance.
Teasing what appeared to be a pregnancy announcement, told fans: “I’ve been keeping a secret, something I’ve been working on for a very long time.”
The 32 year old then asked: “Are you ready to meet my new arrival?”
But the big reveal was a bottle of perfume, with Yazmin announcing: “This is Amara, my new baby.”
The pregnancy-themed promotion failed to impress some followers, who took to the comments to brand the stunt “insensitive” and “bloody weird”.
One wrote: “Wonder how quick she’s going to delete this and rethink it.”
Another predicted: “i feel like this is going to ruffle some feathers.”
A third said: “Yer this is just insensitive.”
And a fourth added: “This is just bloody weird.”
The clip used the build-up of a baby announcement to introduce Yazmin’s latest business venture, with the perfume taking centre stage at the end.
Yazmin rose to fame on The Only Way Is Essex in 2017 alongside then-boyfriend James Lock.
More recently, The Sun reported in June that she was dating Shane Smith, with the pair enjoying time together in Spain.
