Don’t re-admit politicians who abandoned us – Babangida tells PDP

Former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, has advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to accept back politicians who left the party during its most challenging times.

Speaking at a PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, Aliyu said the party must protect its integrity and avoid opening its doors to individuals who only return when it suits them.

“Those who left the party when we needed them most should not be welcomed back. We must draw the line and make it clear that loyalty has consequences.”

According to him, people cannot keep running in and out of the party.

Aliyu urged the PDP to focus on rebuilding a disciplined and loyal opposition, especially as the 2027 general elections approach.

He emphasized that the party should focus on preparing for the future by strengthening its internal structure, rather than bringing back politicians who have shown disloyalty in the past.

He also called on party leaders to reward those who have remained committed to the PDP over the years.
