A DAD charged over the alleged killing of his nine-year-old daughter was taken to hospital under police escort following the industrial estate tragedy.

The youngster later died at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, while the other three patients, whose ages remain unknown, were taken to hospital as a precaution and have since been discharged.
Her dad was taken to the same hospital separately but was later released into police custody.
The 35-year-old has since been charged in connection with the “suspicious” death.
He is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today.

Witnesses told how they were seen cooking on an outdoor stove by the roadside just hours before the girl was allegedly killed.
Passing motorists told of their surprise at seeing the makeshift camp on the edge of an oil firm’s car park, a short distance from the beach, on Sunday evening.
The schoolgirl was found a short time later dying from injuries.
Just hours before the tragedy, one eyewitness said he drove past at 6pm and saw the family had set up a tent alongside their car.

The local said: “It was a two-man, pop-up tent that you’d get in a supermarket.
“It wasn’t a substantial camping tent.
“I thought it was pretty strange given there’s a beach two minutes away and that’s a lot more picturesque.”
Emergency services flooded the scene at Elliot Industrial Estate after the alarm was raised at 11.53pm on Sunday.
Four ambulance response vehicles were deployed to help.
Police Scotland confirmed the death was being treated as suspicious and they are not looking for anyone else.
A Scottish Ambulance spokesperson said: “We received a call at 23:53 on Sunday 2 August to attend an incident at Elliot Industrial Estate, Arbroath.
“We dispatched four ambulance response vehicles to the scene and we transported four patients to Ninewells Hospital.”
A police presence will remain in the area as the extensive investigation continues.
Detective Inspector Mike Ness of the Major Investigation Team said: “Our thoughts remain with those affected by these events.
“A police presence will remain in the area while our enquiries continue.
“Anyone with any concerns, or information, should approach these officers or contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0008 of Monday, 3 August 2026.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “A 35-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of a nine-year-old girl in Arbroath has been charged.
“Around 12.02am on Monday, 3 August 2026, the girl was found seriously injured in Elliot Industrial Estate.
“She was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where she later died.
“Her death is being treated as suspicious, and a 35-year-old white British man has been arrested and charged.
“He is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 5 August, 2026.
“The nine-year-old girl and the 35-year-old man are known to each other.
“Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death and the other members of the family, from West Yorkshire, who were camping in the area, are being supported by specialist officers.”
