“My whole life now is different because of it. I’m a nervous person when it comes to going to bed at night. It’s really taken over my life.
“I’m in trauma therapy. I had therapy through the police straight away but now I’m starting it again. I’ve only just really opened up to some of my friends about it.”
During the interview, Megan recalled the terrifying ordeal and told how the criminals hacked through her bedroom wall with a baseball bat.
She said: “They were inside my house, but I lock my bedroom door every night because I always worry about something happening to me when I’m on my own.
“The next thing I know, my mirror has come off my wall, and they’re hacking a hole through my wall with a baseball bat.
“They’re three masked men with machetes and baseball bats, and they managed to hack a hole in my wall because it was a fake wall going onto my dressing room, linked to my bedroom.
“And if my door wasn’t locked, actually, they probably would have woken me up and probably killed my dog.”
