CRISTIANO RONALDO’s sister, Elma, has slammed Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag in a brutal Instagram post, after the 37-year-old was hauled off against Newcastle.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is having a tough season, scoring just twice in 12 games.
He has also started more games from the substitutes bench, watching on as Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial got the nod over him.
Ronaldo had the chance to grab his 701st club goal against Newcastle on Sunday, but he was largely anonymous and was hauled off with 20 minutes to go.
The Portugal star was far from pleased to see his number go up as United went on to play out a 0-0 draw.
And his sister Elma has hit out at Ten Hag, sharing a news article indicating a possible January exit from Old Trafford.
Elma wrote: “It’s too late.”
Emojis of disgust accompanied Elma’s post, who shares the same frustration as her brother.
Ronaldo had hoped of leaving Man Utd in the summer after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League last season.
The Red Devils failed to win silverware and recorded a sixth-placed Premier League finish.
However, a lack of realistic suitors saw Ronaldo stay put.
Ronaldo could be handed another opportunity to impress on Wednesday with Martial “not available” for Tottenham.
And Rashford felt “under the weather” at the weekend.
