A former gubernatorial campaign Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 governorship election in Plateau State, Letep Dabang, has resigned from his position as the Political Adviser to Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and has returned to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Dabang, who was a former chairman of the APC in the state during the tenure of former Governor Simon Lalong, had defected to the PDP and was made the DG of the PDP campaign team.

Following the victory of Gov. Mutfwang, he was appointed Political Adviser to the governor.

Dabang, who tendered his resignation letter dated June 30, 2025, and addressed to the Chief of Staff to the Governor, cited personal reasons for his decision.

“Please accept this letter as a formal notice of my resignation from my position as a Political Adviser,”; the letter reads.

“I appreciate the opportunities I have had to serve and contribute to the government of the day as political adviser, and also as the former Director General of the Plateau State Peoples Democratic Party presidential/governorship campaign council.

“Thank you for the opportunity given, and I wish the government continued success.”;

The current state chairman of the APC, Rufus Bature, who confirmed Dabang’s return to the APC, said:

“Yes, he is with us. He has joined us fully. In politics, there is no permanent enemy, but permanent interest.”;
