CORONATION Street’s Roy’s Rolls must have hit hard times as the cafe owner is now charging customers for just passing through his establishment in a hilarious blunder.

The cobbles icon – who is played by actor David Neilson in the soap – has run the cafe for almost three decades since arriving in Weatherfield.

Eagle-eyed fans watching today’s episode were left scratching their heads when policeman Kit Green walked into Roy’s presumably to order some food.

However he didn’t have chance to order anything before Roy charged him £5.75 and then presented him with the card machine.

He simply paid up and then went to leave.

But then instead of staying, Kit had a quick chat with Jodie Ramsey, remembering her from the Corriedale crash.

Kit had found Jodie in the woods after she fled from Emmerdale’s Graham Foster’s car.

In today’s episode she asked him to leave things, but then he discovered she was Shona’s sister.

Perhaps that’s why Kit then left Roys’ without having received anything.

The crisis hitting the cobbles must know mean that Roy is charging the residents for merely being in his cafe.

One fan wrote: “Poor Kit, went into Roy’s, randomly paid £5.75, and then left without anything.

“Looks like you now have to pay for just entering the Roy’s Rolls, as I never even heard Kit order anything.”

Another said: “The amount of time somebody has paid for their roll or coffee and been told some news and just decided to leave without the goods is hilarious.

“Like is there a rule that carrying a food item takes away from the drama.”
