Chelsea have announced that Academy defender Dante Waite has signed his first professional contract with the club.

Waite joined the Blues at the Under-8 level through the club’s development centre.

He featured regularly for the Under-18s as a schoolboy during the 2024/25 season and was appointed captain of the Under-18s.

Waite played a key role at the Under-18s and lifted the Premier League South title.

The 17-year-old has represented England Under-18s two times, featuring against Greece and Cyprus.

It’s yet to be seen if Waite will get any playing time under the new Chelsea manager, Xabi Alonso.
