Actor and presenter Bradley Walsh is among the candidates being considered by the producers of Strictly Come Dancing to take over as a host from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

This change would reflect a return to the show's showman era—65-year-old Bradley is expected to be paired with at least one female co-host, potentially Oti Mabuse, 35, or Fleur East, 38.

Television veteran Bruce Forsyth hosted the dance competition alongside Tess since its launch in 2004.

He departed in 2014, three years before his passing at the age of 89.

A source commented: “Bradley is a true professional with excellent experience in hosting live shows.

“His name has surfaced several times with executives, as many believe he would excel in this role.

“Naturally, he would be paired with a female co-host as part of a duo.

“Oti and Fleur are both strong contenders and have significant experience as well.

“Bradley is well-liked by audiences of all ages and would bring humor and a classic showbiz charm.”

He currently has a busy schedule, hosting shows like The Chase and Beat The Chasers, as well as BBC’s Gladiators.

However, Bradley has previously confessed that he lacks dancing skills.

He stated: “I’m not a dancer. I don’t even consider myself a good dad dancer. I’m a bad dad dancer, which is even worse.”

A BBC representative declined to comment but mentioned that the broadcaster would reveal plans for the 2026 series of Strictly “in due course.”
