The concrete roof and window frame collapsing into your bedroom isn’t considered an emergency, apparently. Has anyone experienced structural issues and received a satisfactory response from the most dreadful company ever known? Who did you contact? I’ve been battling this issue for the past three years, and they have done nothing. They’ve allowed it to deteriorate to the point of collapse. It continues to fall apart. The frame is now being pushed out. They informed me that no one would be sent today, and they can’t escalate to the complaints team until tomorrow, as they only operate Monday to Friday. I asked, what am I supposed to do in the meantime? This is my bedroom, and I have no idea about the structural safety. Their response was, "Sorry Sir, there is nothing more we can do."
MINISTERS are set to announce a record £9 billion renovation for soldiers’ damp and deteriorating homes tomorrow.
This flagship defense housing strategy will represent the most significant overhaul in fifty years.
It commits to modernizing or rebuilding 40,000 military homes over the next decade.
Additionally, plans will be outlined to construct another 100,000 homes for soldiers and civilians on military land.
The Prime Minister referred to the plan as a “generational renewal.”
He stated: “Our Armed Forces families make remarkable sacrifices for our country. They deserve homes that genuinely feel like home.”
The Defence Secretary told The Sun on Sunday: “Britain has the finest Armed Forces in the world.”
“Behind many of the men and women who keep us safe are their spouses, partners, and children.”
“The very least they deserve is a safe and decent home. Instead, families have suffered due to years of cuts and neglect.”
The strategy was developed by an independent team led by a former MP, who stepped down at the last election.
This announcement follows a £6 billion Labour deal that repurchased 36,000 military homes sold by the government, saving taxpayers £600,000 a day in rental costs.

I will ensure homes fit for heroes
BY Defence Secretary
WHEN Labour won the election, satisfaction with military family housing was at an all-time low.
Damp. Mold. This isn’t merely poor maintenance; it’s a betrayal of service.
Behind many of the men and women who keep us safe are their spouses, partners, and children.
They make extraordinary sacrifices, and the very least they deserve is a safe home.
The Conservatives mishandled the privatization of forces family homes in 1996, which lowered morale and cost taxpayers £600,000 daily.
Within six months of taking office, this Labour government reclaimed 36,000 military homes into public ownership.
This deal provided an opportunity to rectify forces housing and initiate a housing construction boom.
Labour’s new Defence Housing Strategy — supported by £9 billion of investment over the next decade — is our plan to achieve that.
It will halt the decline and begin the renewal.
Nine out of ten homes will be modernized.
We are also delivering over 100,000 new homes for military and civilian families.
With our new Forces First policy, service personnel and veterans will be prioritized in purchasing these new homes.
The Prime Minister has requested Defence to assist the Home Office by providing temporary sites for asylum seekers, and we are complying.
We have granted armed forces the largest pay increase in twenty years and expanded childcare support for families deployed overseas.
Labour pledged to renew the nation’s commitment to those who serve, and we are fulfilling that promise.
We stand with our forces and their families.
