This incident allowed Blooming to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament after a 2-1 victory over their rivals in the first leg.

However, the events on the field were overshadowed when tempers flared after the final whistle.

A video that has gone viral on social media shows players from both teams gathering in a large crowd.

Some staff members and players then exchanged punches in shocking scenes.

Police present at the match were compelled to use tear gas to disperse the violence.

According to Bolivian outlet El Potosi , the unpleasant scenes began when Oruro player Sebastian Zeballos had to be restrained by Blooming players, before breaking free and pushing other players.

His teammate Julio Vila was also enraged and threw punches that escalated the chaotic scenes, the report added.

Oruro coach Marcelo Robledo confronted another coach and was pushed back, falling to the ground.

There was pandemonium around the pitch as 20 police officers had to intervene.

Blooming coach Mauricio Soria took his players into the dressing room to calm them down.

The report indicates that Oruro was furious after failing to qualify for the semi-finals, despite needing just one goal to force penalties.

The match report states that seven Blooming players were dismissed by referee Renan Castillo, while four Oruro players received red cards.

The additional dismissals included both coaches, Robledo and Soria, along with their assistants.

Blooming forward Cesar Menacho had already been sent off earlier in the match for using offensive language.

Bolivian outlet Vision360 reported that Castillo will submit his report to the Sports Disciplinary Tribunal in Bolivia for further action.

It was also reported that Robledo sustained a shoulder injury and a blow to the head during the brawl and required hospitalization.

Additionally, it was claimed that a Blooming official suffered a fractured cheekbone amidst the chaos.
