Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has described the arrest of a notorious bandit terrorizing the South-East, Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta aka Gentle De Yahoo, as one of the ‘biggest catches’ made by the Nigerian military.
DAILY POST reports that the military on Tuesday at his hideout in Aku-Ihube, Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.
The military reported that the successful operation also led to the seizure of a cache of weapons and other items, including an English pistol, 120 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 25 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, a cartridge, six mobile phones, military and police uniforms, and a German flag.
Reacting, Igbokwe in a post on Facebook hailed the military and President Bola Tinubu for the feat.
He claimed that the hoodlum, who recently gunned down three young men in a viral video, may have killed more than a thousand persons in the region.
He wrote, “The Nigerian Military has made the biggest catch in South East Nigeria by capturing a notorious bandit and killer called ‘Gentle’.
“That man may have killed more than a thousand Igbo from 2015 to 2025. SE has been liberated. Thank you PBAT.”
