The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has raised a team to campaign for its candidate for the Ganye constituency by-election scheduled for next Saturday, August 16.

The APC is presenting Misa Musa Jauro for the election that will also feature a candidate from the ruling party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The APC at the weekend announced the formation of its Campaign Council to secure victory and reclaim the seat which the party lost in May last year.

The member representing Ganye in the House of Assembly, Abdul Malik Musa, who was of the APC, had died on May 24, leaving the Ganye seat at the Assembly vacant.

The state APC Chairman, Idris Shuaibu, said, “The loss of our esteemed member was a painful blow, but it has only strengthened our resolve to honor his legacy by retaining this seat for the APC.”

This is according to a statement released by the party’s State Secretary, Dr. Raymond Chidama, who emphasized the critical role of the newly constituted Campaign Council.

The August 16 House of Assembly by-election in Ganye promises to be a two-party affair between the APC and PDP, as the fast-growing African Democratic Congress, ADC, clearly the third biggest party in the state, is not presenting any candidate.

The state ADC Chairman, Shehu Yohanna, affirmed to Daily Post on Saturday that the party is not participating in the election.
