ANDY Burnham may have his eyes on the top job in No10, but the prime minister-in-waiting is absolutely dwarfed by his “giant son”, internet users have pointed out.
As the 5ft8in former Manchester mayor makes a beeline for Downing Street, social media users have noted that his son Jimmy stands head and shoulders above the King of the North.

Jimmy is the latest in a series of tall sons who have massively outgrown their famous fathers – sparking social media frenzies in the process.
, although measuring up at 6ft3in, is also much smaller than his son Barron, who comes in at an impressive 6ft7in.
star has famously faced similar jibes – with his 6ft2in lad Daniel towering over his 5ft7in old man.
It comes as social media take a deep dive in Mr Burnham’s personal life ahead of his all but certain inauguration – including his wife Marie-France van Heel who featured on 34 years ago.
Her night out with Will from Surrey ended in disaster, and Ms Van Heel, known by her pals as Frankie, married Mr Burnham in 2000.
The couple share three children, towering Jimmy, 26, and his two sisters Rosie and Anne-Marie, both in their early 20s.
In a family picture taken in 2017 on the day Mr Burnham won the Greater Manchester mayoral election, Jimmy can be seen posing miles above his dad.
One X user who shared the pic online noted how Jimmy, then 17, overshadowed his dad in the height department, while also drawing comparisons with Barlow’s son, Daniel.

They quipped: “In the finest of Manchester traditions (Gary Barlow), I am delighted to announce that…Andy Burnham also has a GIANT SON.”
The Take That star, now 55, previously sparked an internet meltdown late 2024 when he shared a family photo on his personal profile.
The image, which amassed more than six million views, showed Barlow, his son Daniel, and his youngest daughter, Daisy, 17, with his wife of 25 years, Dawn Andrews.
It was soon after flooded with memes commenting on Daniel’s height.
Some reports claimed he appeared to be 6ft2in, compared with the 5ft7in singer.
And many have compared Mr Burnham and his son Jimmy with various other famous dads with tall sons.

Supermodel , who measures up at 5ft11in has also outgrown her 5ft6in “momager” .
Brit legend has also been dwarfed by his eldest son Alistair.
Jimmy was born in March 2000, while Andy and Frankie were living together in Brixton, London.
The couple also share daughters Rosie, 23, and Anne-Marie, who has just finished her English degree at Cardiff University.
Mr Burnham previously told The Telegraph Jimmy’s birth pushed them to get married.
He said: “I’m a bit old fashioned on these matters – although I have to admit that Jimmy, my eldest son, was at our wedding so I’m only old fashioned up to a point.
“When my wife got pregnant for the first time it was a complete shock. My first thought was, ‘Oh my God, we’ll have to get married’.”
According to Jimmy’s , he bagged a history degree from before working as a caseworker for the between August 2022 and January 2024.
He also put in a stint as a policy and communications executive for Green.TV Media.
Before finishing uni, Jimmy earned cash selling pastries at a Primrose Hill bakery and working in the Princess Royal boxes for The Grand National at Aintree Racecourse back in 2017.
