searches-carried-lake-leicestershire-teenage-1091000071A MAJOR search has been launched after a teen was spotted entering a popular lake before going missing.
Emergency services scrambled to Meynell Lake in Syston, East Midlands just after 1.30pm on Thursday.
A desperate search is underway for a teenage boy who was reported to have entered the water.
Police officers and the fire and rescue service remain at the scene with members of the public urged to avoid the area.
A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: “Officers are currently in attendance with colleagues from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service.
“Searches are being carried out to locate the boy and officers are in contact with his next of kin.”
