ITALY legend Alessandro Nesta has reportedly been offered a chance to work under Roberto De Zerbi at Tottenham.

Talks are still ongoing with the ex- boss but he is expected to sign a five-year deal in N17.
De Zerbi will be looking to put together his backroom staff ahead of his arrival in North London in what will be his biggest job yet.
And according to Tuttosport, World Cup winner Nesta, 50, has been given a chance to become De Zerbi’s assistant manager.
The report says Nesta is currently considering the offer. He has only worked as a head coach so far in his career.
Nesta is seen as one of the greatest defenders of all time after winning two titles with AC Milan.
He was part of Milan’s iconic side featuring legends like , Gennaro Gattuso, and .
And he capped off his most memorable achievement by lifting the World Cup with after beating on penalties in the 2006 final.
He finished his career with 624 appearances after later spells in the and India.

Nesta has since moved into coaching after brief spells with Miami FC, Perugia, Frosinone, Reggiana and Monza.
Last season, he was axed by Monza in December 2024 with the club bottom of , only to be re-appointed just seven weeks later.
Nesta’s return could not inspire an upturn in results as Monza were relegated to Serie B after finishing 20th.
He left the club again soon after and is currently a free agent.
If he does end up joining De Zerbi, it will be the first time he has worked in England and only the second time he has played or coached outside Italy.
De Zerbi has been out of work since after he fell out with the board.
He will have just seven games to save Spurs from relegation and his first game will be Sunderland away.
De Zerbi is set to be one of the highest-paid managers in the Premier League.
A relegation clause is also understood to have been discussed by chiefs during negotiations.
