Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has revealed when he started watching the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, tournament.
In a recent interview on CBS Sports Golazo, the former French striker revealed that he started following AFCON in 1988 which was hosted by Morocco.
He reminisced about the AFCON final, where Cameroon triumphed over Nigeria 1-0 with a decisive goal from Emmanuel Kunde.
“I want to give you a little background about me, the Africa Cup of Nations, and I’ll talk about what happened in the final,” Henry said.
“I started to watch the AFCON in 1988. It was in Morocco. Cameroon won against Nigeria in the final.”
Henry, however, recalled prominent key players from that match, saying, “You may remember names like Roger Milla and Joseph-Antoine Bell were playing in that team.”
