The factional Board of Trustees (BoT) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), aligned with the factional National Chairman, Nafiu Bala, has labeled the coalition led by David Mark as an unlawful entity supported by competing leadership.
The Secretary of the factional BoT, Rufus Ekenmi, made this declaration on Thursday during a press conference in Abuja.
Ekenmi denounced what he referred to as an effort by certain individuals who unlawfully infiltrated the party under the guise of a coalition, thereby introducing a spirit of insubordination within the ADC.
The faction has also instructed Bala to establish a disciplinary committee to penalize any ADC member found engaging with individuals such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, David Mark, El-Rufai, Rauf Aregbesola, Abubakar Malami, Babachir Lawal, Emeka Ihedioha, Liyel Imoke, and others.
In response to his endorsement, Bala pledged to adhere to the party's constitution and to lead with fairness and objectivity.
He further accused members of the coalition of violating the ADC constitution by functioning from an alternate headquarters.
“I must emphasize that our party constitution clearly states that only registered members in good standing are entitled to party privileges, including access to official facilities,” Bala asserted.
