The Director-General of Big TENT Nigeria, Ibrahim Abdulkareem, has explained the reasons behind former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, pursuing the presidential nomination of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
During an interview on ‘Prime Time’, a program on Arise Television that was monitored by DAILY POST on Wednesday, Abdulkareem emphasized that Obi is not seeking the ADC ticket without effort.
He stated that Obi aims to unite Nigeria and believes the ADC should be a viable choice for Nigerians who clearly reject the idea of a one-party system.
“Peter Obi didn’t simply join the ADC; he has been a part of it since day one, making his intentions clear to anyone willing to listen.
“He expressed his willingness to be part of this coalition not just to seize power but to come together and establish a system that would benefit Nigeria, as Nigerians have been yearning for authentic and effective leadership.
“He has accomplished what none of these other individuals, including President Bola Tinubu, have achieved. Before officially declaring for the ADC, he engaged with the Obidients.
“At no point in his meetings has Peter Obi requested the ADC ticket as if it were a gift. Instead, he has focused on what he has done in his previous interactions with people, what Nigerians have expressed, and the need to foster unity, particularly by offering young Nigerians the hope of a brighter future,” Abdulkareem stated.
