The Senior Political Assistant to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Demola Olarewaju, has outlined his views on how President Bola Tinubu could lose the 2027 presidential election.

Olarewaju stated that if Atiku and former President Goodluck Jonathan compete for the presidency on separate platforms in 2027, Tinubu is likely to face defeat.

During an appearance on the Mic On podcast on Saturday, Olarewaju mentioned that Jonathan would gain public support if he secures a victory in a competitive primary.

He remarked: “If Goodluck Jonathan participates in the primaries and wins in a competitive field, we will all rally behind him.”

When asked about the scenario where Jonathan runs on the PDP platform and Atiku represents the ADC, he replied: “The APC will lose. The APC will lack a foundation in the 2027 election if Jonathan competes under the PDP while Atiku or another candidate runs with the ADC.”

He further asserted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is no longer a significant player in national politics.

“The PDP is no longer the formidable force it used to be and lacks the necessary drive. Today, the PDP has become merely a vehicle to fulfill ethnic aspirations,” he stated.

“I believe the PDP has lost its national significance. While it may still hold some influence in certain states, it is no longer suitable for national politics,” he concluded.
