However, the storm took a toll on Borough Park before the two teams were set to compete.
A shocking video showed the roof being ripped off the side terracing as the storm hit the UK.
Fans were left utterly astonished by the dramatic scenes that unfolded.
One supporter tweeted: “Goodness gracious!”
Another remarked: “Wow, that’s incredibly windy!!!”
A third wrote: “Oh my, that’s severe.”
This fan commented: “I can’t believe this.”
And another exclaimed: “Incredible!”
Tens of thousands of homes are still without power, and weather warnings for high winds—some reaching 96 mph—remain in effect in certain areas as Storm Amy gradually moves away.
There will also be some disruptions to rail services today as efforts continue to repair the damage caused.
The forecast states: “Strong west to north-westerly winds are anticipated to persist across the Northern Isles and will also impact parts of northern and eastern mainland Scotland throughout the first part of Sunday as Storm Amy slowly drifts to the east.
“Gusts of 60 to 70 mph are expected during the early hours, particularly in more exposed regions.
“Winds should generally diminish from the west through the morning, although they will remain strong over, and to the lee of, mountains for some time afterward.”
