Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Joash Amupitan, has said that the Commission will be happy to work with the Nigerian Air Force in the conduct of the 2027 general elections.

The INEC boss stated this in response to the assurance of support offered to the Commission by the Air Force during a courtesy visit to the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja

NAF had offered to provide logistics to the Commission and also join other security agencies in providing security during the polls.

“And I’ve always said this, that an election can only be as good as its logistics. So given the fact that we have always encountered logistics problems, it has dawned on me that maybe INEC has not properly exploited this great potential we have in the military logistics,” Amupitan said.

“And I’m happy that this private discussion I had with you this morning, where you were able to also bring out clearly some of those rudiments of the logistics.

“So we will be glad to work with you and see how we can overcome some of the challenges we’ve had with logistics.

“So I am pleased to note that we can effectively work with the Air Force, and also the other military arms, so that we have an effective logistics.”
